Jon B. Cooke

Jon B. Cooke is the consecutive five-time Eisner Award-winning editor for “Best Comics-Related Periodical” and winner of the 2007 Harvey Award for “Best Journalistic Presentation,” all given for his former magazine Comic Book Artist. He is also co-producer and writer of the full-length feature film documentary Will Eisner: Portrait of a Sequential Artist, a selection of the Tribeca Film Festival and winner of audience-favorite awards.

Jon has written and edited or co-edited The Warren Companion and The T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents Companion, designed innumerable books and magazines on comics, and he currently teaches a virtual course on the history of comics for the Rhode Island School of Design, where he also has lectured and instructed on the subject. His latest magazine, COMIC BOOK CREATOR, will debut in April and is devoted to the artists, writers and editors of the field and, as the “new voice of the comics medium,” will serve as a bully pulpit for the cause of creator rights. He thrives by day as an art director in advertising, working from his West Kingston, Rhode Island home, where he lives with his wife, Beth, and whichever of his three sons whom still refuse to move out.
